CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY FOR ARMED FORCES REUNIONS, INC.

For attendees canceling reunion activities prior to the cut-off date, Armed Forces Reunions, Inc. (AFR) shall process a full refund less the non-refundable AFR registration fee ($10 per person).  Attendees canceling reunion activities after the cut-off date will be refunded to the fullest extent that AFR’s vendor commitments and guarantees will allow, less the non-refundable AFR registration fee.  Cancellations will only be taken Monday through Friday from 9:00am until 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time, excluding holidays.  Please call (757) 625-6401 to cancel reunion activities and obtain a cancellation code.  Refunds processed 4-6 weeks after reunion.  Canceling your hotel reservation does not cancel your reunion activities.

 BATTLESHIP COVE / NEW BEDFORD OUTLET MALL

Friday, June 25

Climb aboard, immerse into the past and discover the future at the Battleship Cove.  Begin the adventure by enjoying a buffet lunch in the Ward Room.  Spend the day touring all nine decks of the USS Massachusetts, otherwise known as the “Big Mamie” and visit the National Destroyermen’s Museum aboard the USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. which saw live action in both Korea and Vietnam.  The only two PT boats from WWII are also on display here.  And don’t miss the SS Lionfish, a perfectly maintained WWII attack submarine.

NOTE:
For those who don’t wish to visit Battleship Cove, the New Bedford Factory Outlet district is close by.  After making a stop at Battleship Cove, the bus will stop at the outlets.  Enjoy two hours to bargain hunt at stores, such as Vanity Fair, Samsonite, IZOD, Bass Shoes, Bannister, and many others before returning to Battleship Cove to pick up the rest of the group.  Eateries are also available for lunch on your own.

 NEWPORT TOUR

Saturday, June 26

Spend the day exploring historic Newport.  Begin with a guided tour of Marble House, home of Mr. and Mrs. William K. Vanderbilt.  Built in the 1890’s by New York architect Richard Morris Hunt, this magnificent home and Chinese Tea House is sure to capture your attention.  Enjoy lunch on your own at Brick Marketplace before beginning a driving tour of Newport which includes sights such as Bellevue Avenue lined with fabulous mansions and the spectacular coastline of Ocean Drive.  Stop for a guided tour of Astor’s Beechwood, home of the historic Astor family.  This tour is presented by costumed actors and is given in “first person” to highlight the lifestyle of 1891.
